Charles Eugene Crank, 72, of Hurdle Mills, North Carolina, passed away on March 18,2026.

Charles was preceded in death by his mother, Isabelle “Belle” Crank, and his brothers, Sunny Crank and Loyd Crank, and sister Doris Ann Hodge.

He leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughters, Joanna Crank Fuqua and Candace Crank; his cherished grandson, Ryan Milks; three surviving sisters Bobbie Nicoletta, Martha McCowan, and Susan Gebhardt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

Charles was an entrepreneur for many years, known for buying and flipping properties and for his strong work ethic and independent spirit. Outside of work, he found joy in spending time at the lake and at the beach—places where he felt peace and happiness.

One of the most defining parts of Charles’s life was his 33 years of dedicated membership in the twelve-step program. His commitment to sobriety and service was unwavering. As a passionate sponsor and mentor, he devoted countless hours to helping others overcome addiction. Supporting others in their recovery meant the world to him, and his impact on the lives he helped change will continue far beyond his years.

Charles often said, “I’m on a mission from God, and it’s all about love.” In his final days, those words were lovingly repeated back to him—reminding him, and all who were with him, that his life truly was about love.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at his home group at Rougemont United Methodist Church in Rougemont, NC on April 11, 2026 at 12pm where, with their support, they will honor Charles and remember the many lives he helped turn around and forever change.

His mission of love lives on in all who knew him.
