Barbara Windbigler Johnson passed away on April 20, 2026.

Barbara was born on April 25, 1948, in Galion, Ohio, to Charles Hesten Windbigler and Dorothy Mae Windbigler. She was preceded in death by her parents her brother Bob Windbigler, and by her son, Scott Johnson.

Barbara was a strong-willed and independent woman who loved her family deeply. She was someone who consistently stepped in to take care of others when they needed support, and she carried that sense of responsibility throughout her life.

She is survived by her Brother Harold Windbigler (Marsha); Children: Eric Johnson (Jo); Chad Johnson (Kristi); and Angela Hoy (Jonathan).

She was a proud grandmother to Hallie Pardo-Hoy (Nelson), who are expecting Barbara’s great-grandson, Ashton Scott; Sean Johnson; Heather Hoy (Sylvia); Ryan Johnson; Hunter Hoy; and Courtney Elsmore (Najee). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Barbara was previously married to John Robert Johnson, and they later divorced in 1995.

She will be remembered for her strength, her independence, and her steady commitment to caring for the people around her.
