Janet Ashkenasy

Janet Ashkenasy, 81, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026.

Born on November 11, 1944, in Brooklyn, New York, Janet lived a life filled with determination, humor, and a love for the things that brought her joy. She was known for her stubborn streak, sharp sarcasm, and the unique way she expressed her love to those closest to her.

Janet enjoyed traveling, listening to music, and creating ceramics. She had an appreciation for beautiful things and found happiness in collecting teddy bears and spending time with her beloved "grand kitties." Whether sharing a witty comment or admiring something that caught her eye, Janet had a personality that left a lasting impression on those who knew her.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Anne Alvarez; her son-in-law, Robert Alvarez; her sister, Neysa Linzer; and her nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, all of whom will forever cherish the memories, laughter, and love she brought into their lives.

While her family mourns her loss, they find comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and that she is now at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Foundation in Janet's memory.

Janet will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
