Soledad Te Kiok

Dr. Soledad Te Kiok, 76, passed away peacefully on June 11, 2026, in Cary, North Carolina. Born on June 12, 1949, in Tuguegarao City in the Philippines. She lived a life marked by dedication to her family, her profession, and her passions.
Dr. Kiok pursued her education with distinction, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of the Philippines before obtaining her medical degree from the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College of Medicine. Sol met Fernando during undergraduate studies, and they immigrated to the U.S. together after medical school. She completed her residency in Radiology and further specialized with a fellowship in Interventional Radiology at Wayne State University. Her career took her to Sandusky, Michigan, where she practiced radiology before continuing her work at the VA in Alexandria, Louisiana. Throughout her career, Dr. Kiok was known for her commitment to excellence and care for her patients.
Beyond her professional achievements, Sol found joy in a variety of hobbies that brought vibrancy to her life. She enjoyed bowling and golf, solving crosswords, playing mahjong, and exploring new cuisines. These activities reflected her zest for life and curiosity about the world around her.
Sol was deeply devoted to her family. She is survived by Fernando, her beloved husband; Richard and Erin, her son and daughter-in-law, respectively; Janina, her daughter; and Norah and Henry, her cherished grandchildren. She also leaves behind Lucy, her sister. Sol treasured time spent with loved ones and especially delighted in moments shared with her grandchildren.
Her memory will be lovingly held by all who knew her as a dedicated mother, a skilled physician, and a woman who embraced life’s many joys. Sol's loved ones will remember playing mahjong late into the night with her, including singing absurd songs and teaching the third generation of mahjong sharks. Her family will remember her often as they continue to try and replicate her adobo. Long live no-dobo!
May Sol's legacy bring comfort to those who mourn her passing and inspire those who remember the remarkable life she led.
In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the ASPCA (https://secure.aspca.org/donate/donate) and/or your alma mater. She loved both animals and education and would be grateful for your support.
