Lynn Caldwell, 81, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 21, 2026 at UNC Rex Nursing and Rehabilitation surrounded by the love of her sons, Daneil Paul Caldwell, and Joshua Anthony Caldwell. Born in the Bronx, NY, Lynn was the daughter of the late Anthony Paschak, and Marianne Padwinski Paschak. Lynn graduated from the prestigious Bellevue School of Nursing in 1966 and would go on to serve as a nurse for fifty years spanning fives states: New York, Michigan, New Mexico, Florida, and Wisconsin. Lynn’s nursing accolades ranged from ER and hospital Charge Nurse roles to Visiting & Hospice nursing care, to Geriatric nursing later in her career.

Shortly after graduating from nursing school, Lynn met and soon married her husband, Paul Raymond Caldwell, on December 28, 1968. Early in their marriage, Lynn worked to put her husband through Law School at Duke University, and much later in her career she once again worked to put him through his PhD in Catholic Theology at Marquette University. If Lynn was known for anything, it was her selfless devotion to her family and others before herself, as evidenced through her dedication to her husband and her Catholic faith. Though Lynn spent much of her Christian faith as a Baptist, she and her husband, Paul, converted to Catholicism in the early days of the new millennium, and lived as faithful Catholics until their passing.

In addition to her parents, Lynn is predeceased by her younger brother, Randy Paschak, and her husband of 52 years, Paul Raymond Caldwell. Lynn is survived by her sister, Lauri Hobleman, of Beverly Hills, CA, and Lynn’s three sons and two daughters-in-law: Charles Raymond Caldwell; Daniel Paul Caldwell and his wife, Melanie Caldwell; and Joshua Anthony Caldwell and his wife, Emily Coffield Caldwell, Aerie Maymudes. Additionally, Lynn is survived by her four grandchildren: Autumn Thompson; Cailyn Caldwell; Victor Maymudes; and Xena Maymudes.

A memorial service and funeral mass will be held for Lynn at St. Thomas More Church, in Chapel Hill, NC, in the main chapel, on Friday July 10 th , at 11am. After the memorial and funeral mass, Lynn will be interred with her husband at Salisbury National Cemetery, in Salisbury, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Thomas More Church in Lynn’s loving memory.
