Darius Corbin

Darius Corbin, 56, passed away on March 31, 2025, at 11:58 PM at Duke University Hospital due to natural causes, following nearly a year of health challenges. He was born on February 4, 1969, in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in McDowell County, North Carolina. For the past ten years, he had been living in Florida.

Darius is survived by his wife, Michelle Corbin; his two children, Serena Norton and Darius “DJ” Corbin Jr.; his grandchildren—Haydynn and Asher Norton, and Adriana and Easton Corbin; his mother, Joyce Anderson, and stepfather, Harold Anderson; his brother, Brian Corbin; and his son-in-law, Justin Norton.

Darius was a believer in Jesus Christ. Though he didn’t always walk closely in his faith, one of the final moments of his life was spent asking his daughter to lead him in a prayer of salvation. Surrounded by family, he also made peace with people in his life—a powerful gesture of humility and healing that brought comfort to those who were present.

He also had a unique legacy that could only belong to him: Darius proudly held the unofficial title of the number one blue plastic barrel salesman on the East Coast. From backyards in North Carolina to farms in Florida, if you saw a blue barrel, there was a good chance Darius Corbin had something to do with it. His hustle, charm, and knack for sealing the deal made him a local legend in a niche only he could master.

Per his wishes, Darius will be cremated. There will be no formal funeral or burial service. A celebration of life may be held in the future, though plans are still being discussed.

His life, like many, was a mix of challenges, laughter, and growth. He will be remembered in different ways by those who knew him, and his story remains part of the lives he touched.
