Richard Duane Logue

Richard Duane Logue, 87, of Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on April 23, 2026.

Duane was born in Monte Vista, Colorado. He graduated from Colorado State University and Purdue University with a PhD in Speech Pathology and Audiology. He taught for many years at Johns Hopkins, University of Miami, James Madison and East Carolina University. After leaving academia, he founded the Institute of Human Communication in Durham, NC.

Known for his love of music and writing, Duane recorded an album (“Words”) in 1982. He listened to many genres of music, with Jazz being a favorite. In recent years he became a loyal viewer of The Voice and AGT.

Duane is survived by his sister, Glenora Widger (Jim); his children, Craig Logue, Kerri Moore, and Kristi Stott (Jay); 9 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
