Dennis Woodward

Dennis Joseph Woodward, 67, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Dennis was born on March 9, 1959, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Donald and Jeannine Woodward.

He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, partner, coach, and friend whose kindness and generosity touched countless lives. Dennis devoted many years to coaching, shaping the lives of young men and women and leaving a lasting impression on everyone he mentored. He was the epitome of selflessness, always putting others before himself and offering support, encouragement, and compassion wherever it was needed. His steady presence and caring heart will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Ruby Melgar; his children, Jeremy (Tracy) Woodward, Bree (Steve) Butler, and Jennifer (Aaron) Haddock; and his beloved grandchildren: Christian Cunningham, Jenika Woodward, Dylan Hoffman, Jaden Hoffman, Rylie Browning, Cameron Andersen, Morgan Woodward, Phillip Winder, Wyatt Winder, Tristan Haddock, and Bradley Haddock.

Dennis was also blessed with great grandchildren who brought him tremendous joy: Nova Andersen, Oakleigh Andersen, Jaxxton Andersen, Isla Andersen, Madelyn Ferreira, and Waylon Haddock.

He is also survived by his sisters, Jackie (Dave) Hock, Julie (Kevin Magner) Woodward, and Cheryl (Jack) Dobbs. Dennis will be remembered for his generous spirit, unwavering love for his family, and the lasting influence he had on so many lives through coaching, friendship, and simple acts of kindness. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
