Anna Pochek

Anna Grace Pochek, 93, of Apex passed away peacefully at home following a month long illness on May 27th, 2026.

She was born in Woodbridge, New Jersey on July 20, 1932 to Julius and Grace Palfi, the third of seven children. After graduating from Woodbridge High School, she married the love of her life, Frances "Frank" Joseph Pochek. They created a beautiful and fun filled life, raising their three daughters, Fran, Donna and Patti. After being a stay at home Mom for many years, she worked alongside Frank at many various jobs in their later years, which included working at marinas, retail stores and grocery stores. She had a passion for baking and crocheting, sharing many of her baked goods and crocheted hats over the years.

Anne is preceded in death by her loving husband, Frank, who passed away in 1999 and her daughter, Frances Melodick, who passed away after a long illness in 2012 at the age of 60. Anne is survived by her daughter, Donna Grace Grodecki (Gary) of Wendell, NC and her daughter Patti Bowden (Jim) of Bailey, NC. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jeffrey Melodick (Tara) of Toms River, NJ., Beth Nenortas, Toms River, NJ., Gregory Grodecki, Clayton, NC., Melissa Grodecki, Clayton, NC., Emily Bevilacqua (David), Louisburg, NC and William Fournier (Susan) of Blackwood, NJ., as well as nine great grandchildren.

As she always reminded us, "Death is part of life" It is with those words that we find peace, knowing that she is at rest.

Per her wishes, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
