Frederick Creighton Wellman

Frederick Creighton Wellman, 87, of Raleigh died peacefully at his home on July 6, 2023. He was born on May 23, 1936, in New York City to Dr. Frederick Lovejoy Wellman and Dora Mae (U’Ren) Wellman.

Creighton loved everything red. Attending organ concerts and taking train rides were on his list of favorite things to do. Creighton was a regular viewer of Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune and enjoyed listening to classical music. He was a fan of the North Carolina State Wolfpack. Touring the world with his parents provided the impetus for his interest in world affairs and current events. He was curious about all new forms of technology as they developed.

Creighton was fortunate to have the support of staff and friends at the Oaks at Whitaker Glen where he had been a resident for 37 years. Creighton also enjoyed his association and the support he received from the congregation at Highland United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be planned in the Atrium at the Oaks at Whitaker Glen at a later date.
