John "Curt" Hale

John "Curt" Hale, age 67, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2023, surrounded by family, in hospice at WakeMed Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina.
John was born in Springfield, Vermont on May 10, 1956, the son of Worden Hale, and Frances (Keene) Hale who are both deceased.
John was raised on his parents’ dairy farms in Norway, Maine, and Albion, Maine, graduating from Lawrence High School in 1974. He was awarded a Welsh Fellowship and earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Texas A&M in Commerce, Texas in 1979.
John had a successful career spanning over 40 years as a semiconductor engineer and engineering manager, working for organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. John was a great inventor and always thought of ways to solve everyday and global problems. He co-authored several patents and loved mentoring and teaching anyone wanting to learn.
John is survived by his siblings Clyde Hale and wife Josey of Chandler, Arizona; his sister Eileen (Hale) Dulac and husband Tony of Bowdoinham, Maine; his brother George Hale and wife Adrienne of Needham, Massachusetts; his brother Gregory Hale of Winslow, Maine; his son Gregory Hale and his wife Xiao-Ping Liu of Seattle, Washington with his two grandchildren Tao and Ellie; his son Matthew Hale of Bordentown, New Jersey; his former wife Susan Hale of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
