Edward Glenn Carr Jr. passed away on Wednesday October 11, 2023 in Sanford, North Carolina.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1000 Eleventh Street, Goldsboro, North Carolina 27534 with visitation immediately after. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park, 2925 US 117, Dudley, North Carolina 28333.

Edward was born in Goldsboro, North Carolina to Edward Glenn Carr Sr and Bertha Elizabeth Morton Carr on August 10, 1946. He was a graduate of Goldsboro High School and North Carolina State University where he obtained his undergraduate degree and graduate degrees. He worked for the State of North Carolina in various capacities, served as Deputy Secretary of State and Assistant Commissioner of the DMV, and for Habitat For Humanity International.

Edward is preceded in death by Edward Glenn Carr Sr and Bertha Elizabeth Morton Carr.

He is survived by his wife Erin Tallon- Carr. Children Nancy Carr of Raleigh, NC, David Carr of Conway, SC, Carole Stancill (Alan) of Starkville, MS and Laura Stokes (Jayme) of Wilmington, NC. Grandchildren Jonathan Stancill and Elizabeth Stancill of Starkville, MS and John, Christopher and Daphne Stokes of Wilmington, NC. Sisters Barbara Carr and Linda Rich (Jim) of Graham, NC.

Ed will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of
warmth and devotion to family will continue to inspire those whose lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
