Edna S. Dudley

Mrs. Edna S. Dudley, 87, of Garner went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 28, 2023.

Edna was a native of Sampson County. She was the daughter of Thurman T. Simpson, Sr. and Wilma Pope Simpson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her son, Thomas E. Dudley, her great-grandson, Arlo C. Zarate, her sister, Doris M. Simpson, and her brother, Thurman T. Simpson, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters, Marie D. Pipken and husband, Robert of Raleigh and Susan D. Zarate and husband, Marco of Apex and her son, Allen Dudley of Garner; grandchildren, Bryan Phillips (Susan), Christian Zarate (Anthea), Brandon Mitchell, Katie M. Perez (Martin), Caroline Z. Ornelas (Victor) and Tyler Dudley; great-grandchildren, Sarina Phillips, Gabe Phillips, Cameron Dudley, Sophia Ornelas, Aleena Ornelas, Sebastian Zarate, and Emily Mitchell.

Edna is also survived by her sisters, Linda S. James, Nellie S. Lawing, Mary S. Howell, and sister-in-law, Carol Simpson.

Edna, also, leaves behind a very special friend, "Lil" Edna Russell, a special niece, Brenda D. Jackson, a special nephew, Dennis James, and her "adopted" family, Desmond, Betty, and Katie Beth Cornell.
