Jane Georgiana Fishburne

Jane Georganna Smith Fishburne – A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, at 10:30 am at
Pittsboro Christian Village for Jane, who passed away Wednesday morning at the Village where she had
lived and worked since 1996. Jane was born August 30, 1930 in Huntington, WV, to William and Ruth
Smith. Jane attended Wheaton College 1946-1948 and Duke University School of Nursing 1948-1951.
Jane taught school part-time at Alamance Christian School in Graham, NC from 1970-1990. She
attended Ireland Street Chapel in Burlington, NC until she moved to PCV. Jane was employed by the
Village from July 1996 until August 2004. On May 16, 2009, Jane married Charles Fishburne and enjoyed
a wonderful life with him until his death in November 2020. Jane is survived by her brother, Charles
Smith, as well as the Fishburne children – Dana, Ginna, and Chip, their spouses, nine grandchildren and 3
great-grandchildren. Jane was a Christian who trusted her Lord for every part of her life. “As for God,
