Inez Woodlief Kissell

Inez Woodlief Kissell of Raleigh, NC passed away on July 5th at the age of 98.
Born in Wilton, NC, she grew up in Willow Springs before moving to Raleigh to work as a switchboard operator for Southern Bell. There she met and married Ray Kissell and they were together for 63 years until his death in 2010.
She was an integral part of the lives of her 3 kids, her neighbors and her many siblings. She was also active at Longview Baptist Church, as a charter member, until her health declined just a few years ago. Even in her final years, she was generous to those needing a hand, including family and friends on North King Charles Rd.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray, and her daughter Angela Hodge. She is survived by her daughter Margaret Lynch (David) of Timberlake, NC, her son Alan (Barbie) of Bend, OR and Ann’s husband, Don Hodge of Raleigh. She has 4 grandchildren (Christina Sendall of Raleigh, Christopher Lynch of Timberlake, Carrie Kissell of New York, and Katie Banuelos of Portland, OR.) She also had 6 great-grandchildren: Anna and Emily Sendall, Abby and Bryson Lynch and Archie and Ollie Banuelos.
A graveside service will be held at Montlawn Cemetery on Wednesday, July 10th at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Transitions Lifecare in her name.
