John Stephen Pedersen

John Stephen Pedersen, 58, beloved husband, father, and son, went home to the Lord on July 19, 2024, in Raleigh, NC. He was born on December 9, 1965, and grew up in Clementon, NJ.

John is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Pedersen, and brothers Richard and Stephen. He leaves behind in love and sorrow his wife, Sherry (Quay) Pedersen; children Melissa Long (Chris), John Pedersen, Jr. (Sarah), Breelyssa Pedersen, 16, and Joselynne Pedersen, 14; father Thomas J. Pedersen, Jr.; brother Tom Pedersen (Norma); grandchildren Terra Pedersen and Amir Pedersen; and many nephews and nieces.

John was an avid Philly sports lover who umpired and coached his children and many others in T-ball and softball for over 10 years. His passion was uncontainable, his competitive spirit unmatched, his pride in his children limitless, his love infinite, and his humor infectious. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him until we meet again.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at North Raleigh United Methodist Church, 8501 Honeycutt Rd. Raleigh, NC 27615. The service can be streamed live at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gy-jIYiOri4.
