Garner, North Carolina – Robert Clyde Hamilton, 70, passed away on July 25, 2024. He was born on February 26, 1954 in Raleigh, NC, to the late Frank Reginald Hamilton and Edith Mae Hamilton. He graduated from Garner Sr. High School in 1972.

He is preceded in death by his sister, Betty Ann Frederick. Robert is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Flanner Hamilton; his children, Kristy-Ann Joyce (Sean) of Mocksville, NC; Tyler K Hamilton (Angela) of Fuquay Varina, NC and Shannon S Hamilton (Elizabeth) of Raleigh, NC; his sister, Betsy Prewitt of Leicester, NC; and grandchildren: Henry Hamilton, Roy Hamilton, Peyton Hamilton, Halle Joyce and Kady Joyce, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert’s first job was as a bagboy for Winn Dixie. From there he moved up into the Information Technology field installing the office computers and associated wiring. He ended this career after 37 years when Winn Dixie moved their headquarters to Florida. Upon closing of the stores in the Carolinas and surrounding states, he worked at First Citizens also in the IT field. The last of his retirement years were spent working part time in Home Depot in Garner for over 6+ years.

In his spare time he loved to go fishing in his boat at the North Carolina coast. He also loved Nascar, and was an avid Dale Earnhardt fan.
He was happy tending to his yard and a small garden, and loved tinkering in his shop; often helping neighbors and with their lawn mowers, blowers or chain saws.
Robert was proud to be a friend of Bill’s. He loved each one of his brothers and sisters, and worked diligently to help them every day. He had 16 years of sobriety.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Hayes Barton Baptist Church in Raleigh, NC on August 10, 2024 at 11AM. Please dress in casual attire.
