Margaret Mary Fitzgerald Henkel

Margaret was a caring and kind mother to her two children, Steven Charles Henkel (Tae) and Peter William Henkel (Amy). She dearly loved her two grandchildren, William and Anna Henkel.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband William Charles Henkel, her parents John Thomas Fitzgerald and Margaret O'Donnell Fitzgerald, her brother John Joseph Fitzgerald (Marilyn), and her sister Rita Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her sister Carole Fitzgerald.

Margaret had a fiery personality and a big heart. She moved her family from New York to North Carolina to have a better life. She took care of her terminally ill husband for years while lovingly raising her children. She was a soccer mom, a dog lover, and always the life of the party. She also had a tremendous sense of humor, always making people smile and laugh. Her family and friends affectionately called her Mickey.

In lieu of a funeral we are planning to have a celebration of her life. We will reach out to family and friends about the details.
