Wayne Creech

Otis Wayne Creech, 72, passed away peacefully at home in Raleigh, North Carolina on November 21, 2024, after a courageous battle against Parkinson's disease. Born in Wilson, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Florence Creech. Wayne grew up on his family farm in Middlesex, North Carolina where he worked alongside his brother, enjoying the outdoors and learning the value of hard work. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Pharmacy. In 1977 he married the love of his life Cecilia, and they had three children, Jenna, Aaron and Kathryn. He worked as a pharmacist for 41 years in retail, hospital and institutional settings.

Wayne was loving, kind, compassionate, genuine, loyal, faithful, steadfast, and had a witty sense of humor. Survived by his wife Cecilia, his children Jenna Cash and husband Josh, Aaron Creech and wife Jessica, Kathryn Creech and husband David and his nine grandchildren who loved their “Poppy” fiercely: Lucas, Lainey, Davis, Harper, Hadley, Everett, Elijah, Fern and Florence. Also survived by his brother Ashley Creech, who remained his best friend, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Wayne was a member of Redeemer Presbyterian Church and faithful supporter of the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5th at 2pm at Redeemer Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. Memorial donations can be made to Redeemer Presbyterian Church PCA of Raleigh or the Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina.
