Teri Matheson

Teri Matheson, 69, of Raleigh, NC, passed away March 30, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Teri grew up in Leggett, NC where her love of horses and cattle was nurtured by her pre-deceased parents, Art and Iris Bundy. She graduated from NC State University and enjoyed a successful mortgage and banking career. Teri was gregarious, adored her corgis, and loved to travel. Her childhood friends (“The Girls”) have remained close for more than 60 years. The number of people who loved her was evident after her diagnosis when so many came to visit her.
Teri is survived by her loving husband and caregiver, Rob Matheson; daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Andy Barr: grandson, Lucas Barr; and sisters, Deborah Dunn and Beth Wilson. She was a loving and engaged aunt for her four nieces and nephews and their children and a caring sister to her sister/brothers-in-law.
Rob invites loved ones and friends to a celebration of Teri’s life on May 30, 2023, at The Raleigh Rose Garden in Raleigh, NC where he and Teri were married on May 30, 1976. Attendees will be asked to share their memories of Teri and enjoy the flowers and fauna she so loved. An invitation will be posted on Caring Bridge at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made.
