Andrew McCovery III

Andrew “Doug” McCovery III, 54, of Cary, North Carolina transitioned peacefully from this life at 4:14pm
on Sunday, April 9, 2023. He was surrounded by family who loved him. Andrew succumbed to a long
period of illness complicated by several chronic health conditions. He was respectfully cared for and
passed away at the North Carolina Heart and Vascular Hospital located at the University of North
Carolina Rex Hospital, Raleigh, North Carolina.

Andrew was born April 3, 1969, in Frankfurt Germany. As a child he lived in California, Kentucky, and
Illinois. He participated in sports and was a Cub Scout during his younger years. Andrew spent most of
his childhood in Germany, he loved the culture and enjoyed traveling Europe with his family. His parents
retired in Orlando Florida where he attended high school. Andrew considered Florida his home until the
day he passed. He enjoyed traveling, listening to rap music, cooking, and meeting people. He was a
creative thinker, a wonderful friend, and a caring life partner.

Andrew is survived by his life partner of 20 years, Ms. Kelly Hollyfield, children: Felesia Reshae McCovery
and Christopher Andrew McCovery, sister: Felesia McCovery Bowen (Jeff), niece: Jessica Bowen Pereira,
and nephews: Jeffrey Jr. and Matthew Bowen. He is preceded by his parents: Andrew Jr. and Dorothy
McCovery.
