James (Butch) E. Fredrick

James (Butch) Fredrick, 75, of Henderson, NC, died on February 26, 2025, at UNC Hospital, in Chapel Hill. He was born in Toledo, Ohio to James Abner Fredrick and Katherine Fredrick. After a brief period of time in Kentucky, where he contracted polio as a child, the family returned to Toledo, Ohio. Jim was a 1968 Waite High School graduate. He worked in the printing industry for over 50 years and retired from Barefoot Press, in Raleigh, NC.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years and 204 days, Linda (Linn) Steinmetz Fredrick; loving stepdaughter Sheri Bailey of Henderson, NC; loving stepson David M. Dombrosky (Darold Kelly Riley) of Pittsburgh, PA; loving sisters Alice LaCourse and Vicky Fowler (Mark); sister-in-law Karen Christian (Larry); grandchildren - Samantha Badstein (Cole), Taylor Bailey, Jackson Bailey; great-grandchildren - Dalton, Alaric and Rosalie. Preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, and brother-in-law, Earl LaCourse.
Jim accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior in 1977. He embraced the scripture Romans 8:38-39. He was greatly loved and is greatly missed.
A graveside service will be held in Toledo, Ohio, with a gathering of friends and family at Tony Packo's, on a future date.
