Donna Michele Zirkle

Donna M. Zirkle passed away peacefully at home in Raleigh, NC on 3/15/2025. Donna was born in Washington DC, to Gary Zirkle and Judy (Stringer) Zirkle. She grew up in Suitland, MD and Waldorf, MD. Family relocated to Raleigh, NC in 1982. She attended Millbrook HS. In 1986 she worked at Pet Mania Pet Store for several years. She loved taking care of animals, especially dogs, so she went to work at Bayleaf Vet Hospital for many years and moved to Fuquay-Varina, NC 1999, and continued her work at the vet hospital. She is survived by her older brother Gary (Ed) Zirkle, Jr. , her Aunt Maureen (McGroarty) Moore; Uncle & Aunt John and Carole Stringer; Uncle David H. Zirkle and several cousins.

Preceded in death by her grandmother and step-grandfather (Irene M. Greene Stringer McGroarty and Joseph A. McGroarty), Grandfather John E. Stringer Sr.; her grandparents (David & Julia Zirkle) and Aunt Joanne Zirkle, and Uncle Joseph (Joey) McGroarty, Jr.

The family would like to thank her caregivers at Heartland Hospice for their compassionate attention they gave to her on a daily basis.
