Radford Hughes (Ted) Hart

Our treasured father, grandfather, inventor, philosopher, and master of puns Radford Hughes "Ted" Hart passed away on March 30, 2025. He was born in Morristown, NJ on September 23, 1943 to the late Wilbur Hayden Hart and Martha Bailey Hart, longtime residents of Bayleaf in North Raleigh. A veteran of the Vietnam War, Ted served in the Air Force on bases in Kansas and Thailand. Later in life he relocated to Pittsboro where he spent most of his life pursuing his invention patents. Some of our very best memories were spent in Ted's company on lazy Sunday afternoons, speculating on the nature of the universe, playing a game of chess, or laughing at his unique bad jokes.
Ted is survived by his children, Greg (Rene), Tracy (Nicole), and Michael (Kimba), as well as his grandchildren, Christopher, Josh, Danny, Sally, and Raelan. He is also survived by his brother, Alan Hart of Burkesville, Kentucky.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date, with his ashes scattered in the rolling waters of the Rocky River.
