Cora Deuser passed away peacefully on May 4th at Transitions LifeCare of Raleigh, NC.

Cora was born in Yonkers, NY on September 23, 1930 and was the daughter of loving parents Joseph and Martha Williams, who predecease her.

Cora was predeceased by her beloved husband Tom Deuser and son Joseph Sobsey who both passed away within three weeks of each other in late spring of 2022. She was also predeceased by her closest sibling and perhaps favorite person Winnie Whitman, brothers Carl, Ed, Nate and sisters Martha, Elsie and Doris.

Cora and Tom had been residents of Raleigh since moving from upstate New York as part of IBM's large relocation to Raleigh in the mid 1980's.

Cora was a member of the Asbury Church in Raleigh where she had many friends. She received loving spiritual guidance at Asbury from Lead Paster Rev. Dr. Jonathan Jeffries, and Associate Paster Rev. Andy Mannes.

Cora was an avid quilter and won awards for her beautiful work at the North Carolina State Fair. Her quilts are cherished family heirlooms and will be passed down through the generations.

Cora is survived and will be missed by her son David and daughter-in-Law Julie Sobsey, step Sons Mark and Jay Deuser and daughter-in law Mary Kay, and their families, grandchildren Zach Sobsey and his wife Maddie, Alexa Sobsey, and great grandchildren James and Rosemary, her close friends Salli Hendricks and John Stirparo, and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life and internment in Woodstock New York will follow later in the year.
