Michael Edward Collins

The world became a little less bright on May 5, 2025, with the passing of Michael Edward Collins of Raleigh, North Carolina.

Born on December 31, 1950, in High Point, North Carolina, the son of Raymond and Dorothy (Anklam) Collins. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Michael’s infectious laughter, quick wit, and unending humor brought joy to everyone around him.

Michael was a devoted husband to Shirley Collins for 34 years, a loving father to Jessica Collins Hill (Josh) and Rachel Collins (Danny), and a cherished grandfather to Briggs, Walter, and Wade Hill. To his family, he was the heart of every gathering and a constant source of love and support.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dorothy, and his brother, Brian Collins. The second of five siblings, Michael is survived by his brothers, David and Keith Collins, and his sister, Susan (Collins) Barnhardt.

A memorial service will be held on June 14th at 1:00 PM at Resurrection Lutheran Church, located at 100 W Lochmere Drive, Cary, NC 27518.
