Ana Maria Samanez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ana Maria Toledano de Samanez, a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and treasured friend, who passed away peacefully on May 21, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Ana Maria was born in Lima, Peru, the daughter of the late Isabel Betteta de Toledano and Rafael Toledano, and one of seven siblings. Four of her siblings—Javier Toledano, Lucy Toledano, Guadalupe Toledano, and Bruno Toledano—continue to cherish her memory, alongside the loving remembrance of her two late brothers, Jaime Toledano and Arturo Toledano.

Driven by love and determination, Ana Maria immigrated to the United States to build a better life for her family. Together with her beloved husband, Leoncio Samanez, she raised four children—Rafael, Miguel, Leonardo, and Mariana—instilling in them the values of compassion, perseverance, and the importance of family.

Ana Maria worked for over 20 years as a Spanish interpreter at the Cleveland Clinic, where she helped bridge communication for countless patients and families. Her kindness and dedication brought comfort and clarity during times of need and touched many lives.

Beyond her professional life, Ana Maria found joy in caring for her family and preparing delicious meals that brought everyone together. Her home was a place of warmth, love, and laughter.

Her grandchildren—Isabel, Maxwell, and James—were a constant source of joy and happiness in her life.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2718 Overbrook Dr, Raleigh, NC 27608.
