Stephen Merrick

Stephen Harrison Merrick, passed away unexpectedly at his home in May of 2025 at the age of 66. Steve was born on March 30,1959 in Gainesville, Florida to the late Dr. Howard Arthur Merrick and Barbara Ann Fisher Merrick. He was the third of six siblings and loving uncle to three nieces, two nephews and their families.

Steve spent much of his life in Raleigh and Boone, N.C., though his love for travel took him to many places. He was a true music enthusiast and played the piano beautifully from a young age. Steve's closest friends were like family to him and he enjoyed introducing them to new bands and experiences.

Steve made a genuine effort to know and stay connected with all of his family members no matter how far away they lived. His larger than life personality, gregarious laugh, and vibrant spirit will be deeply missed.

The family will gather for Steve's memorial at a later date.
