Chris Evans, 44, passed away peacefully at home in Raleigh, NC on July 20, 2025, after a long battle with brain cancer. Born in Gaston Co, NC on July 10, 1981, Chris began his adulthood by starting a residential framing business. He went on to work for Precision Walls in Charlotte, NC then worked his way up as a superintendent at Robins & Morton. Chris was an outdoor enthusiast, self proclaimed "treehugger", lover of sunsets (despite his colorblindness), jokester, fitness fanatic, and life of the party. He always had a joke, positive saying, or word of encouragement for anyone he met. He was charismatic and made friends all around the world. Chris would never accept defeat and saw a challenge in what most people saw as impossible, influencing people to call him unstoppable. He defied the odds with brain cancer and survived much longer than anyone expected. He stayed in peak health otherwise and continued to work out as often as he could. Chris enjoyed writing and documenting his journey, had a lifelong love of learning and self improvement, and spending time with those he loved the most.

Chris was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Sheridan and Woody Evans, maternal grandparents, Frederick and Florence Futter, brother Justin Evans, and father Avery Dean Evans.

He is survived by wife, Sandra Fernandez Mula of Raleigh, daughters Kayla Evans (Anna) and Nora Evans Fernandez of Raleigh, son Theo Evans of Rock Hill, SC, mother Michelle Evans of Hickory Grove, SC, sister Melina Burkell (Stephen) of York, SC, nephews Xavier and Alex Burkell of York, SC, brother Scott Futter of Pineville, best friend Jamie Atkins (Christy) of Monroe, NC and his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Chris was loved by many and will be truly missed. He made an impact on everyone in his life and became an inspiration to many.

Chris's memorial will be Saturday, August 2nd beginning at 2pm (to greet the family) at Faith Rising Community Church, 26 Wainwright Ave, York, SC, 29745. All are welcome to come share their love and memories of Chris.

In lieu of flowers, Chris has asked that trees be planted in his memory using the Arbor Day Foundation at shop.arborday.org.
