March 18, 1948 – March 10, 2025

Linda A. Shepherd, 76, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on March 10, 2025, in Wake Forest, NC, just 8 days before her 77th birthday. Born in Danville, VA on March 18, 1948 to the late Richard Charles Arthur, Jr. and Della Mae Smith Arthur.

She retired in 2013 after 33 years as a Partner with The Art Group, a business she and her friend, the late Fred Iadanza, founded in 1980. She mainly headed the Finance Dept. but dabbled in her first love, graphic design and typesetting, when the need arose. She loved gardening, cooking, canning, the beach, and spending time with her family. She was a generous person, supporting many important charities.

But her greatest accomplishment was the care she gave to her parents when she moved them to her home in 2009. After her parents’ passing, she made weekly trips to Danville, VA, for several years taking care of her aunt and uncle. Her family expresses their deepest gratitude for the love and care she bestowed upon those near and dear to us.

Preceded in death by both parents, a brother, Richard C. Arthur, III and her husband of 57 years, Gary L. Shepherd. Survived by her son, Corey S. Shepherd; as well as a brother and sister, Michael L. Arthur, and Donna A. Luehrs, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service (and interment) for Linda, her husband Gary L. Shepherd, and brother Richard C. Arthur, III, will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, October 27, 2025 at Pine Forest Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, 770 Stadium Drive, Wake Forest, NC 27587. Appropriate flower arrangements are welcome.
