Peter F. Starkey

A son, father, husband, US Marine, and friend. Pete was born in Twin Falls, Idaho where he grew up on a farm in Buhl. And, if you knew him, he told you his childhood stories. He grew up in a time of 1950s hot rods and was a multi sport athlete at Prescott High School. Dad later was elected to the Prescott HS Hall of Fame for his athleticism and leadership; an honor where his legacy will remain forever.
Married to our mom (Janice) for 40+ years, they met at 16 during high school and really never looked back. My mom was our family's angel. She passed in 2004 due to cancer.
Our dad would late reconnect with a high school friend, Nance, a close friend of our mom's as well. Her husband passed some years earlier and they decided to hang out, spending the next 20 years or so keeping good company. Something about Nance, she never met a stranger. A good person to the core.
Having retired from Motorola, Dad renovated his 2nd favorite place in Alpine, Az, a true log cabin where he and mom lived in the summers. He turned it into a show piece worthy of a magazine cover. He loved Alpine, it's where we camped, hiked, and fished in the summers; fitting he'd own a cabin in the small village of Tal Wi Wi.
Dad was never ill, his health was amazing, but it was his lost loves that hurt him most. It's hard to put into a few words a person's lifetime.
In the end, I think he just wanted to be liked, tell his stories, and wanted to be a good guy.
He's survived by his sons David and Chris
