Dorothy Stallworth Rutledge

Dorothy Stallworth Rutledge, aged 95, died peacefully on January 6, 2026, in the Stewart Health Center at Springmoor Life Care Retirement Community in Raleigh, NC. She was pre-deceased by her parents John Robert and Gladys Stallworth, brother J.R. Stallworth, husband Fred Rutledge, and son-in-law Tom Allen. Dorothy is survived by her sister Margaret Owens, daughters Carol Allen (husband Tom Crotty) and Barbara Rutledge, grandson Brent Allen (wife Caroline), great-grandsons Jack and George Allen, nieces Donna Owens, Krista Owens, Becky Root, and Brenda Hastings, and nephew Roy Nix, Jr.

A memorial service and celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held at Greystone Baptist Church (7509 Lead Mine Rd, Raleigh NC 27615) at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 21, 2026.
