Krysta R. Workman

Krysta Renee Workman, 36, passed away peacefully at her home February 27, 2026, after a courageous battle with melanoma.

Born on February 4, 1989 Krysta was known for her compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends.
She graduated from Morehead High School in 2007 and from the University of North Carolina in 2011, carrying with her lifelong friendships and cherished memories.

She is survived by the love of her life, Brian Gustafson; her parents, Brian and Misty Workman; her beloved sister, Amber Workman; her paternal grandparents, Willis and Iris Workman; her beloved dog, Guinness; and many extended family members who will forever cherish her memory.

Krysta will be remembered for her warm heart, bright smile, and especially her deep love of animals. Her kindness touched all who knew her.

In accordance with her wishes, no formal service will be held. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to local animal shelters and rescue organizations in NC..

Though her time was short, her love and spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
