Jack Ronald Ludviksen, 90, of Raleigh, NC, passed away on May 20, 2026. He was born August 5, 1935, and raised in the suburbs of Chicago.
Jack enlisted in the United States Army, completed airborne training, and served two tours in Vietnam as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. During his military career, he played baseball and earned numerous decorations. A few among them are the Presidential Unit Citation, Bronze Star, and Senior Parachute Badge. He retired honorably after 20 years of service in the United States Army.
As a civilian, Jack received his Baccalaureate in English from St. Augustine's University and enjoyed a long, successful career in Human Resources, employed many years by corporations such as Cisco Systems, Nortel, and Exide Electronics. As well, he was a successful entrepreneur in several businesses and an avid and passionate financial investor.
Jack loved playing poker, golf, hunting, and fishing. He would spend hours at the beach house throwing a net catching live bait. He played poker with family members and friends. Jack was a die-hard Chicago Bears and Cubs fan.
He was married for 37 years to his love, Connie Chandler-Ludviksen. Jack and Connie traveled extensively and enjoyed life together. He enjoyed and loved a very large and diverse family, engaging in family betting pools and famous for his potato salad recipe at family get-togethers.
Extremely organized by nature, Jack was at heart an easy-going, kind, and a wonderful man. He found joy in life, family, and friends. He will forever be loved and respected.
A private family service will be held to honor his life and military service.
