Lisa Salazar Johnson

Lisa Marie Salazar Johnson, a resident of Apex, North Carolina, passed away on June 4, 2026, at 65. Born and raised in Southern California, she moved to Cary, North Carolina, where her older son, Christopher, lived. Lisa was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, actively participating in community service and socializing. She nurtured many neighborhood children. As the eldest daughter of Ruben Salazar, a former Los Angeles Times journalist and KMEX News director, she dedicated her life to preserving his legacy and raising her two children.

Lisa is survived by her husband Dave, younger son Alex, sister Stephanie, and Christopher’s wife Allie. She was preceded in death by her older son, Christopher.
