Carol Ruth Wilson

Carol Ruth Wilson (née Rismann), age 83, passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, in Wake Forest, North Carolina. Born on February 1, 1943, in Michigan to the late Raymond and June (Gross) Rismann, Carol brought warmth, laughter, and an infectious smile to everyone around her throughout her life.
Raised in Detroit, Carol met and married Kenneth Charles Wilson on April 2, 1966, after a whirlwind courtship. Together, they built a life centered around family, sharing 33 cherished years of marriage until Kenneth’s passing in 1999.
Carol’s greatest joy was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She raised three children—David, Deanna, and Melissa—and took endless pride in her family. Known for her adventurous spirit and bright smile, Carol loved traveling, dining out, and celebrating life’s special occasions surrounded by those she loved most. Her warmth, generosity, and vibrant personality left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Charles Wilson, and her parents, Raymond and June Rismann.
Carol is survived by her children: her son, David Lawrence Wilson, and her daughters, Deanna Lynn Wilson and Melissa Wilson; her brother, Andrew Rismann, and his wife, Charlene; her five grandchildren, Andrew Timms, Mathew Timms, Katie Black, Tyler Wilson, and Nathan Wilson; her four great-grandchildren; as well as extended family and dear friends.
The family will be having a small, private ceremony in October. If you wish to honor Carol's memory, please consider making a donation to the American Cancer Institute.
