David Allen McMillan

David Allen McMillan passed away peacefully at home on the morning of September 6, 2025, in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, cared for lovingly by his wife.

Born in Peoria, Illinois, David was the son of Tony Dean McMillan and Betty Jean Love (née Johnson). He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Patriot Missile Instructor before building a successful career as a Controls Engineer in the field of robotics automation. His dedication, knowledge, and problem-solving spirit left a lasting mark on colleagues and friends alike.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy Elaine McMillan (née Hamilton); four children, Trenton McMillan of Pendleton, SC (husband to Kendra McMillan), Michael Whitsel of Greer, SC (husband to Litsa Shurick), Heather McMillan-Lomeli of Spring Hill, TN (wife to Danny Lomeli), and Lauren McMillan, of Rocky Mount, TN; eight cherished grandchildren, Alexander McMillan, Logan McMillan, Amaya Shurick, Katarina Shurick, Aleina Lomeli, Caidence Lomeli, Eli McLaughlin and Sophia McLaughlin. He also leaves behind his loyal “fur-baby,” Molly McMillan. David’s surviving siblings include Michael McMillan, Danny McMillan, and Jeanie Sirbaugh.

David will be remembered for his service, his ingenuity, and most of all, his love for his family. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
