Edward Odell Lee

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of Edward Odell Lee, age 89, of Garner, passed away Wednesday morning, September 23, 2026, at his residence. Odell was born on May 25, 1937, in Sampson County.
Odell is survived by his wife of 63 years, Helen Lee; daughter, Venae King and husband Doug King; son, Graham Lee and wife, Tracy Lee; three grandchildren & spouses, Jessica & Scott Pearce, Justin & Cortney Lee and Mackenzie & David Finol; step-grandchildren, Christina King and Andrew King; twelve great-grandchildren, Kyleigh Parker, Emma Parker, Levi Parker, Makayla Finol, Noah Finol, Josie Mae Finol, Branson Lee, Braelynn Lee, Brooklyn Lee, Briggs Lee, Rhett King and Beau King, half sister Deborah Black, along with many nieces and nephews. Odell is preceded in death by his parents, Edward Lee and Vadie Lee; brother Johnny Wayne Lee.
Odell lived a life filled with kindness, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. He served in the Army for three years and National Guard for three years; he retired thirty-five years with the State of NC. Odell enjoyed working in his barn and hanging out with his dogs. He was a very simple man who loved going to Bojangles and Walmart daily.

The family will receive friends at Mount Herman Christian Church on Thursday, October 1st from 11am – 11:45am followed by the Funeral service at 11:45pm.
