Fesili Elekana

It is with profound sadness as we announce the passing of Fesili Ula Elekana, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. Fesili peacefully departed this life on July 27, 2026, at his home, surrounded by the love and warmth of his daughters. He was 73 years old.

Born on February 3, 1953, in the village of Lelepa, Savaii, Samoa, Fesili was the cherished son of Pili Ula and Felila.

Fesili shared a remarkable 50 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Rosa Elekana, whom he married in September of 1976 in Samoa. Together, they built a family filled with love and laughter. Although Rosa, along with their sons Laki and Kojak, predeceased him, Fesili's legacy continues through his surviving children: Ula (Harvey), Rickey (Kapiolani), Fesili, Vai (Charlie), Habula, Vanilla (Josh Earl), Angel, and Sisco (Janelle). His heart and home were further blessed with 35 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, each a testament to his enduring love and guidance.

An esteemed alumnus of Samoa High School, class of 1970, Fesili pursued higher education earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural from Brigham Young University in 1983. His academic pursuits were matched by a professional dedication as an independent Tax Preparer, a career he excelled in for over three decades.

Fesili was a man of simple pleasures and abundant spirit. Known for his sarcastic humor that often left loved ones in stitches, he was equally admired for his humble nature. An active morning walker, he found joy in the rhythm of the dawn and loved playing dominoes with friends, as well as watching any sport with keen enthusiasm.

The Elekana family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to Hospice of Wilson, whose compassionate care and support during Fesili's final days were invaluable. The family is also immensely thankful for the outpouring of love and support from their extended family and friends during this time.
