Fesili Elekana

It is with heavy hearts and profound respect that we announce the passing of Fesili Ula Elekana. Born on February 3, 1953, in the serene village of Lelepa, Savaii, Samoa, Fesili was the cherished son of Pili Ula and Felila Ula. He departed this world peacefully at home on July 27, 2026, surrounded by the love and care of his beloved eldest daughters.

Fesili's journey through life was marked by significant achievements and deep connections. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Rosa Elekana, with whom he shared a beautiful union that spanned 50 years. Together, they built a family founded on love and resilience. Fesili was a loving father to his surviving children: Ula (Harvey), Rickey (Kapiolani), Fesili, Vai (Charlie), Habula, Vanilla (Josh), Angel, and Sisco (Janelle). He was also a proud grandfather to 35 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 13+ great-grandchildren, all of whom were the light of his life.

Education was a cornerstone of Fesili’s life. He graduated from Avele College in Apia, Samoa, in 1970 and went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Engineering from Brigham Young University in 1983. Fesili's career was as diverse as it was distinguished. He began as the youngest prosecutor at the Local Offices of Apia, Samoa, then served as a dedicated police officer for Samoa Law Enforcement from 1975 to 1979. His talents extended to the arts, where he worked as an entertainer at the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, Hawaii, from 1980 to 1984. For over 30 years, Fesili also served his community as an independent tax preparer, always offering his services with integrity and care.

Fesili was a man of many passions. He was an active morning walker, a lover of dominoes, and an enthusiastic sports spectator. Those who knew him will fondly remember his unique blend of sarcastic humor and profound humility. His presence was both comforting and inspiring, leaving a mark on all those who had the privilege of knowing him.

Fesili was predeceased by his beloved wife, Rosa Elekana, and sons, Laki Elekana and Kojak Elekana. His legacy, however, continues to thrive in the hearts of his family and friends.

Fesili's life was a beautiful journey, and his memory will forever be cherished. May he rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love he so generously gave to others
