Gwendolyn Delores Chappell Stuart

Gwendolyn Delores Chappell Stuart, 88, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on June 16, 2026.

She was born on January 2, 1938 in Raleigh, North Carolina, where she spent most of her life as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, caregiver and friend to all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Joycelyn Allison (Renard); her son, Tezell Stuart, Jr.; grandchildren Brian Allison (Marquisé), Christina Gaffney (Tyler), Lexxus Stuart, Christian Allison (Ebony), Trévon Stuart, and Jerron Stuart; and one great-grandchild, Nina Rose Gaffney. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Tezell Stuart, Sr.

Her family is planning a memorial service in the coming weeks and will provide additional details at a later date.
