James Parrish

James “Doug” Douglas Parrish, 72, of Zebulon, NC, passed away on Tuesday July 28, 2026. He was born on July 3, 1954 in Smithfield, NC to James Thomas Parrish and Jessie Johnson. He married Sandra Gayle Hinton in 1972. Doug owned American Pump & Plumbing Service for over 40 years. He was a hard working man who loved his family and spending time at the coast fishing. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Gayle. Children: Jason (Morrisville, NC), Richard (Canton, OH), Melissa and her husband Peter Estrada (Zebulon, NC). Grandchildren: Ashton Christ (Archer Lodge, NC), Taelyn Parrish (Marion, VA) and four great grandchildren. His mother Jessie Pearce (Wendell, NC), brothers Randy Parrish (Spring Hope, NC), Ricky Parrish (Wendell, NC), and half-sister Angie Davis (Pine Level, NC). He was preceded in death by his father James “Dolly” Parrish and his sister Phyllis Allen. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
