James Robert "Robbie" Morris

James Robert “Robbie” Morris
December 30, 1953 – August 17, 2026
James Robert “Robbie” Morris, 72, of Wake Forest, North Carolina, passed away on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
Robbie was born on December 30, 1953, in Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and raised in Weldon, North Carolina. He was the son of Carlton Robert Morris and Margaret Lassiter Morris, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Carlton Robert Morris and Carlton Wayne Morris.
Robbie was a devoted father to his two children, Harrison Robert Morris and his fiancée, Margaret Howell, and Maglen Elizabeth Morris and her fiancé, Jonathan Kelley. One of the great joys of his life was being a grandfather to his granddaughter, Wrenn Elizabeth Kelley.
He is also survived by his sister, Derith Morris Bennett of Florida, and her daughters, Lori and Katrina; his sister, Deborah Morris Sullivan; his longtime friend and former brother-in-law, Donald Sullivan; his nieces, April White (Brad) and Heather Sullivan; and his great-niece, Hannah Kate White.
Robbie is also lovingly remembered by Kathi Morris, the mother of his children, with whom he shared many years, countless memories, and the two greatest gifts of their lives, Harrison and Maglen.
Robbie spent most of his career with Triangle Cable Splicing. But the measure of Robbie’s life was never simply the work he did. It was found in the people he loved, the friendships he built, the memories he made, and most especially in the family he leaves behind.
His family will remember the things that were uniquely Robbie—the stories he told, the old Westerns he could watch again and again, his lifelong love of elephants, and his unwavering devotion to the Green Bay Packers. Robbie was a true Packers fan, and that tradition is already being passed along: his granddaughter, Wrenn, is being raised to cheer for the Packers right along with him. Those familiar pieces of Robbie will continue to bring smiles, stories, and memories for years to come.
Robbie spent his final days surrounded by people who loved him deeply, in a place where his children and family could be close. He was cared for with tenderness, dignity, laughter, familiar movies, and the comfort of simply being together.
Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Robbie’s life on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 3:00–5:00 p.m. at Morris Peaceland Farm, 4200 Graham Newton Road, Raleigh, NC 27606. Rather than a formal funeral service, this will be a casual and informal gathering—a time to remember Robbie as he lived, share stories, laugh together, hug one another, and celebrate the many memories he leaves with the people who loved him.
Robbie’s life will continue in Harrison and Maglen, in little Wrenn, in his family and friends, and in every story that begins, “Remember when Robbie…”
