Jerry Allen Humphrey, Jr. (Jay)

Jerry Allen Humphrey, Jr. (Jay) of Carrboro, NC passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Duke Hospice after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.

Born in Asheville, NC in 1957, he was the son of the late Dr. Jerry Allen Humphrey and Mary McSherry Humphrey.

He graduated from NC State University with a degree in Speech and Communications in 1980. He worked for several companies including Record Bar and Performance Bikes until his retirement in 2021. He enjoyed NC State athletics, movies, concerts, biking, and travel.

He is survived by his brother Thomas and nephew Jed of Asheville, and brother Frank (Susie) and nephews Ryan and Zach of Simpsonville, SC.

The family will hold a private memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to ASPCA.
