Jo Nell "Joni" Rider

Jo Nell "Joni" Lawhon Rider, 68 peacefully passed away on January 8th, 2023 at her home. Joni was born in Raleigh on November 29, 1954 and lived the majority of her life in Raleigh, NC.
Joni had a love for life and animals, especially her beloved cat, George.
Despite her physical limitations, she truly lived each and every day to the fullest. Joni had a natural way of drawing people close to her with her smile and her infectious laughter.
Joni was preceded in death by her mother, Carol Jo Herrin Lawhon. She is survived by her special friend, Tracey Peoples, her father, Worth "Buck" Lawhon (Joyce), her brothers Marshall Lawhon, and David Lawhon (Ellen), a niece and nephew, several great nieces and nephews, as well as her friends in her community.

A memorial service will be held at Wakefield Manor apartments on January 18, 2023 at 11:00am.
