John Newsome earned his wings at the age of 92, leaving behind a lifetime of memories and a family who will forever cherish him.

Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, John spent his working years as a machinist in the automotive industry. He was married to Dolores Griggs, who preceded him in death. Together, they raised four children: Linda Defer, Gail Alvarado, Paul Newsome, and Elizabeth Folson, whose families and generations of loved ones followed, each carrying a little piece of his story with them.

John was blessed to spend every chapter of his life surrounded by the people who loved him most. He remained in the warmth and care of family right up until the day he earned his wings. He was never alone, and he was never without love.

We find comfort in knowing he is reunited with Dolores, and that the love they shared lives on through their family.
