John Davidson Dunlap

John Davidson Dunlap, 77 was called to heaven on August 6, 2022 after his courageous battle with cancer. John was born on December 6, 1944 to James Dunlap and Allean Huntley-Dunlap in Anson County North Carolina.

John was a resident of Thomasville, NC before spending many years in Washington D.C. where he worked as a carpenter. He was respected and loved in his community and always made himself available to help those in need. His doors were always open to friends and family whom he cherished and held in his heart dearly.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Dunlap and Allean Huntley-Dunlap, 3 brothers; J.T. Dunlap, Eddie Ross Dunlap, and Henry Dunlap. A daughter, Bridget Worthy McCoy and his youngest son James Thomas Dunlap.

John's memory will be cherished by his surviving daughters; Tamara Octavia Dunlap, Jennifer Renee Dunlap, Angela C. Hubbard and his son, John Davis Dunlap II. He also leaves to cherish his five sisters, Mrs. Ophelia Moss, Ms. Ara Dunlap and Mrs. Eyvonne Cokley, all of Thomasville, NC. Mrs. Mary Izzard of Jacksonville, FL and Mrs. Shirlene Pegues of Highpoint, NC; one brother, James Howard Dunlap and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
