Larry Lee Offhaus, 71, of Cary, NC and previously a 30+ year resident of Keansburg, NJ, passed away on September 28, 2026, with his daughter by his side.

Born on January 1, 1955, Larry was a son of the late Carl and Viola Offhaus. He was raised in Elma, NY and spent his early years surrounded by the people and places that helped shape the warm and caring person he became.

Larry loved his family and loved having a good time, as long as it wasn’t about him. So, I’m sure he’d hate all the attention he’s getting right now lol. Everyone knew him a little differently: Honey (from his late wife), Dad, Pop Pop, Buddy, Big Bro, Little Bro, Uncle, cousin, neighbor, friend, or just Larry. And knowing him, I’m sure there are plenty of stories out there to carry on his memory and legacy.

He was the life of every party he went to. He was always there if you needed to talk, or even if you just wanted to call and bullshit for a while. Larry was great with his hands and crafted shelves and display cabinets out of wood for his family to display treasures. He loved gardening and took pride in sharing fresh cucumbers, tomatoes, zucchini and more with neighbors and friends. He loved being silly, making people laugh and wrestling on the floor with the grandkids. He was kind, loving and always willing to lend a hand. He loved bowling, the Wizard of Oz, WWE Wrestling, and his Buffalo Bills!  GO BILLS!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Viola Offhaus; brothers, Stephen and Dale Offhaus and his wife and best friend Cindy Mae Offhaus. He is survived by his daughter, Tracey Filomena; son, Paul Offhaus; stepchildren Charles Hunt, Christine Johnson, Caroline Dosser, and Catherine Hunt; siblings, Floyd, Anna, Daniel, Carlene and Donna. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of whom brought great joy to his life. His wife and family were the center of his world, and he found his greatest happiness in caring for them and being present in their lives.

Larry has left a legacy and many memories for us to pass on.  He would want you to carry on and not worry about him. Afterall, he is with his “Honey” and both are at peace.
