Laurie Johnson Mello

Laurie Johnson Mello, 57, of Wendell, NC was met by her Heavenly Father on December 15th after an unexpected illness. Laurie was born in Wisconsin to Coletta and Harold Johnson, who survive her. Laurie is also survived by her children, Jessica McDowell and Jeremy Mello (Dani), and grandchildren, Alli, Sirius, Sunday, and Charlie Mae. She is also survived by her best friend, Tammy Boger, and siblings, Colleen Barber (Will), Harold Johnson (Kara), and Jennifer Koenig (Dan). Laurie was predeceased by her beloved dog, Baby, by one day. After graduating high school, Laurie joined the National Guard and worked multiple careers, always touching the lives of others with her love, laughter, smiles, and joy. She always placed God first and studied His word daily while being an excellent woman of God, witness for others, and always walking the walk God planned for her. Her favorite activities and hobbies included reading her Bible and studying God's word, watching sermons and taking notes, crafts, spending time with her family, dogs, and the ones she loved. Laurie touched everybody's lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel loved unconditionally without judgement. She will always be known for her beautiful and unique tigger-like essence. Words don't exist to encompass the impact Laurie had in the world and will continue to do so in spirit each and every day.
