Lydia Sue Townsend , 78, of Raleigh NC. , passed away March 21,2026 surrounded by the love of her family.

Lydia is survived by her Brother Jerry Townsend and sister-in -law Hillary Townsend of Virginia, her Daughters Ruth Elizabeth (Beth) Miller of Raleigh NC and Susan Miller (Kaye) Artiguez. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Andrea Hart, Ashley Artiguez, Arsenio Artiguez , and April Artiguez. Also survived by 2 Great Grandchildren Hailey and Harrison Hart.

She was preceded in death by her Mother Nancy Ellis and Father Spenser Townsend and by her Stepfather Richard Ellis. Also preceding her is her Son Joseph Preston Miller, 2 sisters Paulette Ritter and Lois Ellis

To honor her wishes there will be no service planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Heart Association

She will be deeply missed and loved. Our hearts are at peace with knowing she is no longer in pain and no longer afraid.
