In loving memory of Maria Hernandez Hernandez. Maria Hernandez Hernandez passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on October 13th 2026, in her home surrounded by all the family that loved her and she loved dearly. She was born September 12, 1953 in Puebla, Mexico and immigrated to the U.S in the late 90’s. She left a lasting impact in everyone she met along the way. Her way to everyone’s heart was through her cooking. She made the simplest foods taste the greatest, a plate of beans made by her were incomparable to a 5-star meal. Everyone who set foot in her home always left with a full stomach. She would rather everyone eat even if it meant there would be nothing left for her. Even though she had been in the U.S for many years she always insisted on keeping the Mexican traditions alive. Whether that be making tamales for a holiday or simply getting together and eating Zacahuil, she always wanted to see the family united and sharing a meal. She was the hardest-working woman you would ever have the honor of meeting, who worked until she was no longer able to. Her battle with cancer was long but that never stopped her from going to church and being in her faith. She was a faithful woman attending church almost every Sunday. She was the woman who never forgot anyone’s birthday and was one of the first to tell you happy birthday. A book could be written about her selflessness, faith, work ethic, strength, humility, and endurance, but it would be a never-ending book. She will always be remembered as an extraordinary woman and role model. She is survived by her longtime partner Everardo Aguilera, only son Alberto Hernandez, and only granddaughter Michelle Rodriguez. As well as a sister, many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends who loved her dearly. May she rest in peace. She will forever live in our hearts.
